Saturday October 13th & Sunday October 14th
12 noon – 6 pm
777 Bergen Avenue, Suite 216
Stephen Cimini began developing the vocabulary for his current work in 1996, which originates from the linear landscape of New York City. It has since mutated to geometric spaces and their relationships to each other while still adhering to its architectural origins. During the process of color exploration and composition development, the paintings take on a persona often revealed in the titles. Recipient of a grant from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation awarded to artists with established ability, Cimini’s work is held in private and corporate collections worldwide. Andrea McKenna owns and operates Videre Decorative Arts in Jersey City, an interior faux finishing company that also specializes in painted furniture. “Years ago, a client once had me paint a vanity that was being turned into a mini bar and basically let me do whatever I wanted. It turned out to be a fabulous accent in her apartment and from then on, I was hooked! I love finding pieces with character and transforming them into functional works of art. It’s also a great way to re-purpose, especially if it’s solid wood, which is what I primarily look for.” You can see some of the before and after pictures on Andrea’s website at andreamckenna.com
