ICA SALON
STAGING / RESTAGING
with Terry Adkins, Homay King, and Sharon Lockhart
Wednesday, October 24, 6:30pm
Participate in the ICA Salon! We have invited a stellar group of artists, critics, and curators to convene every other week to speak frankly about their recent projects and to engage in dialogue with the audience. Inspired by Jeremy Deller: Joy in People, these informal, wide-ranging conversations use broad themes from the exhibition as a catalyst to explore what is at stake in contemporary artistic practice.
Staging / Restaging provides opportunities to rethink the construction of historical and fictive narratives and to reimagine their outcomes. Memory, rehearsal, revisitation, meditation, and identification are just some of the topics we will address in this discussion. Participants include Terry Adkins, Homay King, and Sharon Lockhart. |

surprising exhibition Jeremy Deller:
Joy in People, which opened at ICA on September 19.
Three days before the opening of Jeremy Deller: Joy in People, Jeremy himself is
lying on his stomach on a single bed in ICA's first floor gallery, scribbling on the wall with a Sharpie...
