The Soul of Objects: Ohio Wesleyan metalsmiths

on view at Dublin Arts Council Nov. 13 – Dec. 21

 

DUBLIN, Ohio— (October 18, 2012) The Soul of Objects: Ohio Wesleyan metalsmiths is a group exhibition featuring selected artworks by professor Cynthia Cetlin and nine of her metals students at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio. The student-created objects are unique to the undergraduate artists in style and subject matter. The exhibition will be on view in the Dublin Arts Council gallery, 7125 Riverside Dr., in Dublin, Nov. 13 through Dec. 21, 2012. The exhibition opens with a reception for the artists at Dublin Arts Council on Nov. 13 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Cetlin is a professor of fine arts at Ohio Wesleyan University where she teaches Metals, 3D Design and Art Education. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Barnard College at Columbia University, New York, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Simmons College, Boston, and a Master of Fine Arts from the State University of New York at New Paltz, NY.

Previously, Cetlin taught metals and enameling at Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY, and University of Massachusetts in North Dartmouth, Mass. Her jewelry and sculpture have won numerous awards in juried exhibitions and invitationals throughout the country.

Exhibition hours are Tuesday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Wednesday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The exhibition and opening reception are free of charge. The reception will be catered by Bleu & Fig.
