Guest artist to present flute recital


Peoria, IL (October 17, 2012) Flutist Mary Bassett will present a guest-artist recital on Tuesday, October 30, at 7:30 p.m. at Dingeldine Music Center on the Bradley University campus.

 

She will perform with pianist John Orfe in a program of works by Philippe Gaubert, Georg Philipp Telemann, Otar Taktakishvili, and André Jolivet as well as a piccolo concerto by Antonio Vivaldi.

 

Ms. Bassett, who holds flute performance degrees from Northwestern University and the University of Southern California, will join the Palm Beach Symphony in November as second flute and piccolo. She also performs with the Florida Grand Opera in Miami and at the Aspen Summer Music Festival and School.

 

Dr. Orfe, an award-winning composer, arranger, and pianist, teaches theory and ear training at Bradley and performs as the core pianist in the critically acclaimed new music ensemble Alarm Will Sound.
