Chris McCaw will give an informative lecture and demonstration about his Sunburned compositions, making enormous cameras and using paper negatives. He will discuss details of his travels to the Arctic, the Equator, the desert and the ocean in his pursuit of work. Join us for this talk at Duncan Miller Gallery on Wednesday, October 24 from 7-8 pm. Reservations required -- email info@duncanmillergallery.com
McCaw is working on the leading edge of analog photography. Building large-format cameras, making negatives from photographic paper, experimenting with multiple lenses and partnering with the sun to produce his images.
Signed copies of his new book "Sunburned" will be on hand.
Works from the series on display have been acquired by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, New York Metropolitan Museum of Art, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Museum of Fine Arts Houston, and Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
