From the 'beginning' of my involvement with photography... I became aware how paramount 'family albums' had been in my family. I used to peruse them every so often, and still, as if they contain a code by which visual phenomena of my own could be tracked in time. A treasure game, where all routes lead to the aura of the image... I have always been interested in the traverse between painting and photography; as well as the political dissonance of my time and my own personal story. Ruth Breil. October 11, 2012. NYC.
