Ground.Arts is proud to collaborate with Art Start on the “Home” exhibition,  Dec 6 at: Ground.Arts Gallery, 508 West 26th St, 9E-9F Both organizations, dedicated to empowerment of children through creative effort, are collaborating with the Art Start family of children in homeless shelter programs.   The children will create artworks on the topic of what “home” means to them. We invite established artists to expand the conversation by creating and donating a small work expressing their view of “home” which will be exhibited along with the children’s.   This can manifest itself in abstract ways, or more literal interpretations.  It is completely open to the individual. We are seeking to create a dialogue between creatives of all backgrounds to raise awareness about the struggles faced by these at-risk teens.   YOUR IDEA OF HOME + THE ART START CHILDREN'S IDEA OF HOME = A CREATIVE HOME FOR THE ART START KIDS IN CHELSEA The proceeds of the exhibition will fund an art space for the children for a year in the West Chelsea Building and pave an integration into its creative community. If you would like to volunteer to help with the "Home" project, please let us know. We are seeking help in all aspects of the project including installing and deinstalling the exhibition, assisting at the opening, gallery sitting, website and technical, social media updates, press and promotion. We are also seeking show sponsors and creative/stategic partnerships with companies or individuals.  We are for instance looking for a soft drink or water sponsor for refreshments or for items to include in a gift bag for project supporters.
