“Our Own” - an exhibition of 3rd year
work
At the beginning of their third (and final) year, students are set a
brief for Creative Development. Entitled You’re On Your Own, the brief
requires students to find their own creative topic, explore and research it,
propose a project and follow through with a well-crafted and well-executed
final creative solution or activation.
Students take on a journey to discover their own passion, interest
and strengths.
The culmination of the third year project is an exhibition of
selected works entitled “Our Own” which
refers to the title of the 3rd year Creative Development Brief, as well as a
proud statement such as this is our own (our cream of the crop) and our own
work. The exhibition is the first of 3 events hosted by Vega The School of
Brand Leadership. “Differences”, our staff exhibition, and, thereafter, “The
Vega Showcase” will follow this exhibition.
Students have explored different concepts and mediums through the
year that has made the Creative Development portfolio very diverse and
interesting.
Creative Development is a core subject in the Creative Brand
Communications degree; it supports the students’ creative processes, empowering
them with various creative tools, skills, techniques and means of inspiration
to ensure their creative development is ongoing. It enables students to
recognize, stimulate, nurture, develop and challenge their personal and
creative development.
“Our Own” runs through 3 November 2012.
