UPCOMING EXHIBITIONS EXHIBITION IN SHANGHAI FRED EERDEKENS Solo show from December 8th 2012 to January 26th, 2013 Belgian artist Fred Eerdekens is internationally renowned for his sculptures and installations where he combines language and sculpture into one. He exhibits for the first time in Shanghai from December 8, 2012 to January 26, 2013, at Gallery Magda Danysz, after many exhibitions in Europe and in the United States. The artist combines the ingenuity and creativity of light with material. He uses various mediums, from metal stings, constructions of books or synthetic clouds. The common themes throughout each installation are light, shadow, language and spatial concept. Graduated from the Beaux-Arts of Paris, Gaël Davrinche constantly renews the great masters’ painting techniques. Exhibited for the first time ever in Shanghai, his work surprises us with its colors and textures. This show is an opportunity to discover an amazing work with a lot of references to the history of art. Zhang Dali, one of the most famous Chinese artist (collected by Charles Saatchi and such and ranked in the Top 100 of Chinese contemporary artists by artnet). For this exhibition, Zhang Dali presents the series Man and Beast, where humans and animals mix themselves through huge bronze sculptures reflecting a fantastic and wonderful universe. Today’s China is modern and dynamic and through the work of these photographers, contemporary China is explored. The desire to look at contemporary society as well as reflect on Chinese history and traditions is surveyed in each artists work while being guided each time by different perspectives. Is it the one who deserve the death sentence; the one we are often at a loss to know what to do with. Who is the public enemy, in France, in Norway, in United-States? Why do we imprison private enemies, even friends, birds? Their work deals with the urban environment, focusing especially on the suburbs and abandoned industrial areas. BOTTO E BRUNO prove their talent by the diversity of their work including, photography, drawing, collage, video, and music and their excellent achievements. For the upcoming exhibition, Gallery Magda Danysz gives an overwhelming amount of support to this artistic duo. Upon entering the gallery the audience is automatically confronted with the environment of the artists whereby the external world dissolves.
