Dear Friends of ICA,
On a recent Sunday afternoon, a group packed into ICA's auditorium to see the performance collective My Barbarian present its renowned Post-Living Ante-Action Theater (PoLAAT). ICA was thrilled to host this lively, funny, site-specific program, in which people from the Penn community performed alongside the members of the collective, entertaining and challenging the audience with a mixture of scenes that combined politics, whimsy, and spectacle. PoLAAT has been performed at leading cultural institutions all over the world--in Italy, Egypt, Lithuania, Spain, and elsewhere--and in many languages. Please give to ICA's Annual Fund and help us continue hosting programs like these that connect you to contemporary art that matters.
One of the most satisfying aspects of the My Barbarian residency was how it brought together people from across the Penn community. PoLAAT participants included Lawrence, a lecturer at Wharton and self-proclaimed "art-hound"; Cheryl, a post-doctoral cancer researcher who always wanted to participate at ICA but until now hadn't found the time; and Hillary, an undergraduate member of ICA's Student Board.
We are proud that ICA serves as a gathering point for the University and for the greater Philadelphia community, where the art world interacts with people from so many other disciplines. But we can't do it without your help. Please make your gift to ICA's Annual Fund by December 31.
Sincerely,
Amy Sadao
The Daniel W. Dietrich, II Director
P.S. - Make a gift to this year's Annual Fund to help usher in ICA's 50th year beginning in 2013. We've got a great anniversary season in store for you!
