Last chance to experience the exhibition Caribbean: Crossroads of the World. This exhibition explores the diverse and impactful cultural history of the Caribbean basin and its diaspora. More than 550 works by 379 artists spanning four centuries illuminate changing aesthetics and ideologies and provoke meaningful conversations about topics ranging from commerce and cultural hybridity to politics and pop culture.

(2009) tells the story of visionary social worker, educator, activist, and community organizer Dr. Antonia Pantoja (1922 - 2002), founder of the New York-based advocacy organization, ASPIRA - the first Puerto Rican owned and controlled organization in the United States dedicated to providing education and leadership training for Puerto Rican youth. A passionate, indomitable leader and 1996 Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient, Pantoja worked with the Puerto Rican community to fight against social and class issues faced by the Puerto Rican community.

Award-winning journalist Maria Hinojosa joins Justice Sotomayor in a conversation about her journey from a Bronx housing project to the federal bench.

Donation Levels Vary

The Panorama of the City of New York is an architectural model of NYC at the Queens Museum of Art. Help support its ongoing care and maintenance by adopting an East Harlem building or another NYC structure that has special meaning to you. Suggested donation levels range from $50 to “purchase“ an apartment, $250 to adopt a private home, $500 to “purchase“ a school, library or firehouse or $2,500 for neighborhood maintenance. Donors will receive a title deed in exchange for their purchase.

Tell the Queens Museum your New York story in connection to your purchase; they would love to hear from you. The Museum has already received great feedback from New Yorkers all over the world. They will link your story to their Twitter and Facebook feeds and the Queens Museum blog.

These women are NYC's next generation of gifted drummers, singers, dancers and educators of Afro-Latin and Afro-Caribbean music, including palos, congos, salves, bomba and plena. DJ Sabine Blaizin joins the celebration.
