This is a friendly reminder that you are invited to join us this Wednesday night at The Mattress Factory as we welcome Deborah Bell, our second guest in the PGH Photo Fair speaker series.

Deborah Bell is the Vice President Specialist of the Photographs Department at Christie's Auction House in New York City. Ms. Bell came to Christie's from a long career as a dealer of 19th and 20th century and contemporary photography, specializing in works by masters such as Irving Penn, August Sander and Bill Brandt, and publishing numerous catalogues for exhibitions in her eponymous Chelsea gallery. During more than 30 years in the field, she has also worked at the Walker Art Center and with the photographs collection of the Canadian Centre for Architecture.

Ms. Bell will share highlights from recent and upcoming sales at the auction house, compare her experiences working as a dealer with her new challenges at Christie’s, and shed light on big changes that are presently reshaping the business of buying and selling art photography as collections from the 1970s and 80s appear on the market.

The talk will be held at The Mattress Factory on January 9, 2013 at 6:30pm. This event is free and open to the public. We hope to see you there.
