Formosa Art Story - Yingko, Town of Ceramic Art
In Taiwan, Yingko District is famous for ceramic art. Back into the history record, people came here and found rich pottery clay in the years of Emperor Jiaching (around 1800 A.D.) of Chin dynasty, set the pottery kiln and started the ceramic industry.
Two-hundred years pass, Yingko ceramic art is known around the world. Ceramic related industries are prosperous, there are more than one thousand ceramic factories and stores in the town. The production of the ceramic products covers glazed tiles for buildings, floor tiles and wall tiles, also the art of decoration, daily necessities, vases, teapots, household utensils, children's toys, and industrial precision ceramic. In recent years, some local artists have created innovative ceramic products, which are poured with fine skill and nice design, and that grasps the eyesight of many art collectors and fans.
