ART EXHIBIT: Friday, July 12 through Friday, Aug. 23: Paintings by
David Vickery and sculpture by Blakeney Sanford, both alumni artists. Vickery,
of Cushing, Maine, paints local interiors and exteriors with an eye for the
imperfect, quirky, and sometimes elegant adaptations we’ve made in order to
live in this world. Sanford, of California, creates sculptures using acrylic,
steel, and her signature epoxy resins. Her work, which is primarily exhibited
outdoors, incorporates color and light, connecting nature and industry. Ethel

NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM
George B. Dorr Museum of Natural
History, College of the Atlantic, 105 Eden St., Bar Harbor, ME. Tide pool touch
tank, sounds of the wild, active dioramas of native animals and special
exhibits. All made by students trained in taxidermy and dioramas. Donations
accepted. Open Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. most weeks, except closed
March 17-April 1, June 9-June 25, the first week of September, and from
