Family workshop at County Museum
“Create-A-Book,” a San Bernardino County Museum workshop focused on family creativity, is scheduled for Saturday, January 26 from
1 to 4:30 p.m. Participants will make a variety of unusual books suitable for poetry, journaling, memoirs, scrapbooks, recipes, or more. All activities and supplies are included with paid museum admission; advanced reservations are strongly suggested.
“This workshop is a wonderful opportunity for families to work together creatively and to take home the results of their efforts,”
said Jolene Redvale, museum curator of education. “We use easily available materials and simple techniques, so participants will be able to continue with new projects at home.”
“Create-a-Book” is designed for families with children aged 7 and up, and some children may require adult assistance to complete
their projects. Because the workshop has limited space, advance reservations can be made by calling the museum’s education division at (909) 307-2669 ext. 256. Visitors with reservations should arrive ten minutes before the workshop start time or their spaces
will be released to visitors on waiting lists. This program is made possible by a grant from the S L Gimbel Foundation, a component fund of The Community Foundation Serving Riverside and San Bernardino Counties.
The San Bernardino County Museum is at the California Street exit from Interstate 10 in Redlands. The museum is open Tuesdays through
Sundays from 9 am to 5pm. General admission is $8 (adult), $6 (military or senior), $5 (student), and $4 (child aged 5 to 12). Children under five and Museum Association members are admitted free. Parking is free. For more information, visit
www.sb countymuseum.org. The museum
is accessible to persons with disabilities. If assistive listening devices or other auxiliary aids are needed in order to participate in museum exhibits or programs, requests should be made through Museum Visitor Services at least three business days prior
to your visit. Visitor Services’ telephone number is 909-307-2669 ext. 229 or (TDD) 909-792-1462.
