Forecast Museum, Mario Pires
Preview Friday 25th Jan 6-9pm
Exhibition continues January 26th - February 16th 2013,
futurological colour forecasting by the International Colour Authority
(ICA), Cordeiro's practice anticipates prospective futures born of the
trajectories of todays chromatic practice.
anticipation of consumer trends by colour forecasting authorities
(twenty four months ahead of time) draws invisible lines from consumers
to their future selves, projecting into the future assumptions of their
taste drawn from their current consuming habits. For Forecast Museum
Cordeiro explores the (im)possibility of forecasting the trajectory of
contemporary art practice whilst subtly critiquing the market forces at
work in both the fashion and art industries.
precognitive trend forecasting as a contextual and critical base,
Forecast Museum takes the form of topological explorations and
micro-architectures; satin banners printed with alien landscapes and
insignia with colour schemes that seem to imply an obliquely codified
system always evading interpretation. The colour fields and objects'
faces form swatches of multiple permutations akin to the inexact
science on which they are based. Constantly reconfiguring geometric
form, the structures and designs refuse a consistent pattern,
preferring the glitchy shards of colour that make up a greater whole.
Special screening of the ASSAULT project

6-8pm. This event includes a panel discussion with Mário
Pires Cordeiro, João Lima Duque and invited speakers Dr
Jonathan Owen Clark and Dave Beech.

Κενό is the Greek word
for void. Void as an empty space, in anticipation to be filled and as a
suspended moment waiting to be lived. While a group of artists will try
to earn this space, their different voices will support but also come
to conflict with each other.
All studying Sculpture at
Camberwell College of Arts. In 'Κενό' their work
ranges through various mediums and it is realized through approaches
such as installations, videos, sculptures, prints, digital imagery,
projections, inflatables, performance.
