Good afternoon AFC readers,

A small summation of what we've been up to this week: Mostly, it's looking at and discussing art. An unorthodox approach to criticism, yes, but we're into it. Additionally, today we put a new call out for AFC contributors. Do you live outside New York? Are you a news hound? If so, we want to hear from you. 
 

The Brooklyn Museum’s GO: Democracy in Action?

After months of speculation over whether the Brooklyn Museum’s crowdsourcing experiment would work, the museum’s efforts have resulted in a 5-person (Adrian Coleman, Oliver Jeffers, Naomi Safran-Hon, Gabrielle Watson, and Yeon Ji Yoo) group show. Now that the works are on view, it’s a good time to reflect on the “community-curated” exhibition.

We Went to Chelsea: 26th Street

On our recent outing to Chelsea’s 26th street galleries, we visited James Cohan Gallery, Lehmann Maupin, and Galerie Lelong. We were disappointed.
