ART SAN DIEGO 2013
PRESENTS “[ COLLIDE ]” IN BALBOA PARK
NOVEMBER 7 – 10, 2013

ART SAN DIEGO 2013, with presenting sponsor UBS Financial Services, will present its 5th Edition once again in Balboa Park. Established in 2009 as the first and only Contemporary Art Fair in San Diego. ASD has grown significantly each year in attendance, sales and exhibitors presented.

The theme of ART SAN DIEGO 2013 is [ COLLIDE ] which comments on different types of creative intersections – cross-disciplinary, cross-national, from art to film, from street to urban – and how they manifest in both a visual and social setting.

The show layout will once again include Districts, each with its own character, dedicated to the following disciplines: Contemporary Art & Design, Mid-Century & Modern Art, and an area designated for Solo-Artist Exhibitions. The center of the fair will be created as a social space including places to mingle with sponsors and exhibitors, bar & cafe, and an artistic performance space.

THE WORLD’S BEST
CORPORATE ART COLLECTION

By Jon Pylypchuk | Forbes Magazine
Why collect art? "We are a large corporation, you've got to put something on the walls," says Jacqueline Lewis, Curator for the Americas at UBS. More seriously she adds, "We want to create an interesting and stimulating environment for our clients, as well as our employees." Many of the 35,000 objects in the UBS collection are displayed in employee only areas, such as this conference room in New York. Works are rotated among UBS location every year or two. Lewis says she will often get frustrated calls when a work moves because employees grow attached to the work they see each day.
