Leila Heller Gallery is pleased to host a panel discussion about the economic imbalance in our society. The backdrop for the discussion will be the Galleryâs current exhibition Game II, which focuses on the recent uprisings around the world from the Arab Spring in the Middle East to the Occupy Wall Street Movement in the United States. The work is the result of the mother-daughter collaboration by artists Gayle Wells Mandle and Julia Mandle, honoring the many courageous people who took a stand against injustice and unfairness.
The panel will include:
Chrystia Freeland, author of âPlutocrats: The Rise of the New Global Super-Rich and the Fall of Everyone Elseâ and Editor of Thompson Reuters Digital.
Joseph E. Stiglitz, author of âThe Price of Inequality,â recipient of the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences, former Senior Vice President and Chief Economist of the World Bank and Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisors. He is currently Co-Chair of Columbia University's Committee on Global Thought.
