Standing on the Moon
by Wes Lang
Signed Limited Edition
All proceeds to benefit Printed Matter
$250
In celebration of the first-ever LA Art Book Fair this weekend, we've released a new Wes Lang edition to benefit Printed Matter. Wes lost the original drawing in Hurricane Sandy and wanted to do something to support Printed Matter, which sustained over $200,000 of damage from the storm. This edition is selling fast, so get it while you can!
Wes Lang fulfilled a teenage dream in 2012 when he created cover art for the new Grateful Dead box set chronicling their epic 1990 tour. The release came on the heels of two summer exhibitions: his Half Gallery show "Here Comes Sunshine" in May, followed up by a Montauk installation at Melet Mercantile mid-July. His iconography cites a dizzying mix of American history, biker culture, pin-ups and Taoist texts. In November, Wes unveiled a set of custom Rolex Bamford watches at Dover Street Market in London. Wes’s work was included alongside Richard Prince and Cindy Sherman in an art feature in the January/February 2013 issue of Playboy. He's currently living and working in LA at the Chateau Marmont, where his last residency resulted in the drawing series "Sitting on a Rainbow."
