AUTUMN SEASON 2013 ANNOUNCEMENT

John Conomos • Brad Buckley • Ian North • Robert Besanko

2 March – 19 May 2013

FREE ENTRY

The 2013 Autumn Season continues ACP’s exploration of the diversity of photographic and lens based practice.

Brad Buckley presents the latest incarnation of The Slaughterhouse Project: Alignment and Boundaries (L’Origine du monde) and I wonder whether that’s Joanna Hiffernan with a Brazilian (revisited) for the gallery incorporating wall paintings, narrative text and a performer who reads from a highchair.

John Conomos’ The Spiral of Time combines video, photography, neon and text exploring the themes of identity, the passage of time, as well as the links between cinema, literature, and contemporary art.

Ian North’s photographic series Felicia: South Australia 1973 – 1978 presents black and white gelatin-silver prints of Adelaide and its surrounds. The images represent an early body of work by North, illustrating his command of the photographic medium in exploring the geographical textures and psychologically latent realms of landscape whilst referencing South Australia’s colonial settlement in light of the modern suburban sprawl.

The Autumn Season also sees the evolution of Contemplations by Robert Besanko. Every month over one year a newly digitised version of Besanko’s Kodalith work from the 1970s to the present will be displayed.
