March Cartoonist in Residence: Jason Felix

Cartoon Art Museum Event:  Saturday, March 23, 2013 from 2pm to 4pm


San Francisco, CA:  The Cartoon Art Museum hosts artist Jason Felix on Saturday, March 23, 2013 from 2pm to 4pm as a part of its ongoing Cartoonist-in-Residence program.  Museum visitors will be offered the chance to talk to Jason and view his work.  This event is free and open to the public.
 
While growing up in Wisconsin, Jason Felix was inspired by role-playing games, comics and video games.  After finishing high school, Felix landed a freelance job as an illustrator for White Wolf Games, which lead to a fledgling artist’s career in the editorial print industry.  As years progressed, Jason relocated to San Francisco, to pursue his interest in creating art for the film and video game industry.  <http://www.jasonfelix.com/>
 
Jason Felix works as a professional artist in the entertainment industry.  He worked for various clients such as EA, Blizzard Entertainment, Blur Studios, Lucas LTD, Hasbro and more.  He created art for computer games such as Deadspace 3, Dante’s Inferno, Hellgate: London and Starcraft Ghost.

At the moment, Felix is furthering his personal projects such as Salvaged: The Art of Jason Felix, Midwest Monsters, and Mail Order Monsters:Compendium 2012. These three books containing Jason’s work which explore a variety of art styles and themes.  His artwork, prints, and books are all available on his website for purchase.

About the Cartoonist in Residence Program:

The Cartoon Art Museum regularly hosts professional cartoonist in its galleries as part of its Cartoonist-in-Residence program. Museum patrons see cartoonists at work on their latest projects and learn everything you ever wanted to know about cartoonists–but were afraid to ask.  Past featured Cartoonists-in-Residence include Paul Madonna (All Over Coffee), Keith Knight (K Chronicles, (th)ink), Paige Braddock (Jane’s World), Michael Jantze (The Norm) and Jimmy Gownley (Amelia Rules) among many others.
