Life Aquatic Exhibit Opens March 5 at EBMUD Gallery
In today’s environment, with global warming looming wetly (or dryly) on the ever-changing horizon, the “security of land” is no longer as secure as it once was. This tenuous perspective has provided a thematic springboard for the works featured in this show, “Life Aquatic”.
This collection is comprised of pieces created by members of Art Jam, a gathering of artists who meet weekly in the K Gallery at Rhythmix Cultural Works in Alameda.
The size and media of the artworks are as varied and interesting as the eclectic members of the group: Alice Dockter, Jan Erion, Mark P. Fisher, Andrew Fitzpatrick, Lynn Gustafson, Phil Hargrave, Bill Jeng, Pons Maar, Tonya Marie, Heather Piazza, d’Arci (Bruno) Rhine, Susie Schoonmaker, and Darv Teare.
Life Aquatic is opening on Tuesday, March 5th at the East Bay MUD Administration Building in the 2nd floor Lobby Gallery at 375 11th Street, in Oakland. This exhibit is free and open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. An opening reception will be held on March 6th, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.
