OUR PHILOSOPHY & APPROACH
|
|
KVU aims to provide toddlers a positive first school experience by:
|
- Supporting a toddler's emerging language and social skills in a playful environment.
- Establishing relationships based on trust, respect, and secure attachment through caring and playful interactions between children and teachers.
- Guiding families through a gradual separation process tailored to each child and parent.
|
|
KVU features an emergent curriculum that promotes learning through play:
|

Observation, discussion, and interaction with the children help teachers plan activities and experiences for them based on the classes' interests as they emerge.
- This allows for a dynamic curriculum that caters to the child's interests in real-time, offering meaningful experiences that are instantly relevant to the child.
|

KVU meets 2 hours per day, 2 days per week with an optional 3rd day. Each day includes:
|

Welcome Time - children transition into the school day and say good-bye to grown-ups (once separated)
- Circle Time - Hello song, story time, theme introduction

Music & Movement - Led by a Kidville musician or KVU teacher

Snack - Light snack provided by Kidville - we are an allergy aware facility

Center Time - Children choose to spend time in the dramatic play area, writing table, manipulative table, library, or block area

Art or Exploration - Art or sensory project inspired by theme or topic

Recess - 30 minutes of recess in the gym each day

|
|
Children currently ages 2.0 to 3.3 years in September will be eligible for the Fall 2013 semester, which begins the week of September 9th.

Enroll in 3 days per week for the 2013/2014 school year and receive a complimentary 3rd day for the Fall 2013 semester (up to $1,545 in savings). Must call by Tuesday, March 12th to take advantage of this offer.
