McCulloch & McCulloch and Salt Contemporary Art are delighted to present an extensive exhibition featuring 25 of Australia’s most exciting new talents of Indigenous art.
A number of exhibiting artists are direct descendents of some of Australia’s most famous artists such as Sally Gabori, Minnie Pwerle, Eileen Stevens, Wingu Tingima, Kunmanara (Tiger) Palpaptja and the Marawili family.
Youngest are 17 year-old Claudia Moodoonuthi (Mornington Island) and 18 year-old Kieren Karritypul (Daly River, NT). Other younger generation artists include Anyupa Stevens, Betty Pumani, Delma Forbes, Ina Scales, Kukika Adamson, Sylvia Ken, Tjimpayi Presley (APY Lands); Gurrundul Marawili, Manini Gumana, Yalmakany Marawili (Arnhem Land); Charmaine Pwerle, Caroline Ngwarreye Petrick ( Utopia): Margart Baragurra (Great Sandy Desert/Broome, WA).
Featured also are two large collaborative works from the APY Lands and paintings by established artists whose work is showing new directions - Sarah Napanangka Daniels (Balgo, WA); Lydia Balbal (Sandy Deserts, Broome, WA); Ngupulya Pumani, Marita Baker, Matjangka Norris (APY Lands).
