Cello, voice recital planned at Bradley University
Peoria, IL (March 15, 2013) Timothy Archbold, affiliate instructor of cello at
Bradley University, and his wife Karen Archbold, a mezzo-soprano, will present
a recital on April 15 at 7:30 p.m. at Peters Recital Hall in Dingeldine Music
Center, located at 1417 W. Barker Avenue.
The recital will include Bach's
Fourth Cello Suite as well as some rarely heard cello and voice duets. Timothy
Archbold is Australian and is excited to be playing several pieces by
Australian composers. The duo will perform Ross Edward's Maninya 1, a
piece that uses the cello and voice to evoke the wildness and beauty of the
Australian outback. Also on the program will be Songs of the Night
Wind by Gwyneth Walker, Bright April by Rick Sowash, Reclaiming the Spirit by
Sarah Hopkins, and Threnody by Peter Sculthorpe.
