Time: Pondering "productive procrastination" with
Nerf/Kentridge /Soyinka/Sellars
CORRIGALL:
One Sunday, during the popular Arts On Main market at Maboneng,
some visitors wandered into Goethe-on-Main looking for food.
This wasnt altogether surprising. With a large cardboard
handwritten sign hanging at the entrance boasting the shows
title, Things are Odd, it appeared like a makeshift shop
an extension of the market. In a way, Christian Nerf
was delighted that this misinterpretation occurred; he revels

project using a human cadaver could still happen Despite failing

By Elizabeth

a human cadaver as a work of art could one day be realised,
a leading curator believes, despite a recent failed effort
to find and display a dead body within the strict legal
framework surrounding death and physical remains.Originally

international attention as an important new center for contemporary

Qatar
reportedly buys Picassos Child with a Dove
The oil rich Gulf state has snapped up the UKs most
famous work by Modern master, according to French news
By Gareth
Harris. Qatar
reportedly buys Picassos Child with a Dove. The
small, oil-rich Gulf state of Qatar has made another major
modern art purchase. According to the French newspaper Le
Figaro, the Middle Eastern state has acquired Picassos
Child with a Dove for £50m, a work that until last
year had been in a UK collection since 1924. A spokeswoman
for the Qatar Museums Authority says she cannot confirm
nor deny [the acquisition]; QMA does not comment on acquisitions.

No-Nonsense Tips for Reading About the Art Market
ART
INFO: A lot of what gets written about the art market is
crap. It isn't necessarily meant to be so, but the whole
thing is set up so that it's all but inevitable that it
turns out that way. In the notoriously secretive art trade,
the person who has the right information at the right time,
and is willing to use it, usually goes home the richest
(hi, Larry). Consequently, it's in the interest of everybody
to tell everyone else that "everything is going great"
and nothing more. Thus, almost every dealer who can afford
it employ public relations firms. The big auction houses
both have full teams of in-house PR. Source

Hour That Will Change Your Life: Six Things Artists Should
Do for 10 Minutes a Day
HUFFINGTON
POST: Hilary Harkness: Every artist struggles with productivity
-- how can you create more work, and how do you know where
you should be spending your time? I recently spoke with

Business Review Press book Reinventing You: Define Your
Brand, Imagine Your Future, who writes about how professionals
can take control of their brand -- and their time. Here's
a transcript of our conversation.HH: The average artist
is working alone every day, on long-term projects that are
often amorphous. I Source
