Find out about the cityâs most visionary ambitions â from major schemes to neighbourhood projects â and have your say on the cityâs future. Curated by the Architecture Centre in collaboration with the Mayor of Bristol.

Urban Wanderings: Ambitious City
A series of guided walks exploring Bristolâs historic and future ambitions through buildings and places. Walks led by architecture and urban design expert Alastair Brook unless otherwise specified.
Walks last up to an hour and a half. Starting point given at time of booking: 0117 922 1540. All walks £6 (£4 members/concessions).
Georgian Ambitious City

A wander round Clifton to explore fine examples of Georgian ambition - and find out how the economic crash of 1793 ended it all.
Hard and Soft: Bristolâs Public Spaces
Wednesday 19 June, 18:00
>From the âsoftâ green spaces of Queen Square and College Green to the âhardâ surfaces of Millennium Square and the Centre Promenade, this walk explores the ambition of the city as told through its public spaces.
This event is part of Bristolâs BIG Green Week
Unbuilt Bristol

Writer Eugene Byrne leads a walking tour round some of Bristolâs finest unrealised buildings. Donât worry - there will still be plenty to see!

Industrial Ambitious City

The area around the docks has undergone much change over recent years. This walk will trace a path through ambitious and controversial developments near the waterâs edge.
Bristol Walking Festival event
Saturday 11 May, The Pavilion, Hannover Quay near Millennium Square
The first Bristol Walking Festival (5 - 12 May) features over 40 walks to suit varied tastes and abilities. On 11 May the Architecture Centre will be taking part in a harbourside event which will include information stalls and specialist local led walks.
Bristol Walking Festival is organised by Bristol City Councilâs Walk for Health team with the support of Bristol Ramblers and funding from Active Bristol. For details visit www.bristolwalkingfestival.co.uk

Spring Green is the Architecture Centre's annual programme of exhibitions and events that celebrate sustainable innovation in the built environment and ask poignant questions about the environmental and social impact of our buildings and cities.
The Architecture Centre: The Architecture Centre champions better buildings and places for people. By demonstrating the value of good design the Centre aims to increase public awareness and enjoyment of the built environment, and stimulate demand for design excellence. The Architecture Centre is a registered charity and is supported using public funding from Arts Council England. The Centre is also supported by corporate and private donors and income generating activities, and has a partnership with the University of the West of England.
