New, Nonprofit Gallery 2014 Charitable Enterprise Debuts
Art Classes for Spring/Summer 2013

Who/What:

Gallery 2014, the new nonprofit concept established to bring the community together to celebrate, enjoy, learn and acquire exceptional artwork of emerging artists from around the globe, is debuting its art classes in spring 2013:

Drawing with Mary Larsen

This course will be led by teacher, artist, art director and illustrator Mary Larsen. Students will be taught the foundations of drawing: line, value, form, texture and composition using pencil, charcoal and pen and ink. The class will also cover contour drawing, still life, perspective, portraits, figure drawing and more. Even the person who is convinced that he/she cannot draw will leave the class with the necessary skills and knowledge to become a draftsman. Classes are for all levels and participants must be 16 years or older. Participants will need to provide various supplies.

Collage Art with Mixed Media Class

This course will be led by Debbi Becker, creative director of Gallery 2014. Becker is an experienced collage/mixed media instructor, and previously taught at FOR ART SAKE and ARTS PARK in Young’s Circle, both in Hollywood, Fla. She has taught children and adults. Her collage work was shown in a juried show in Wynwood during Art Basel at Miami Independent Thinkers 2009. Course participants will explore the various possibilities of self-expression. Students of varying skill levels will be encouraged to venture down their own path of self-expression with guidance in the areas of media and technique. Classes are for all levels and participants must be 16 years or older. Participants will need to provide various supplies.

Those interested in learning more about Gallery 2014 and its classes are encouraged to attend its open house for the public on April 27 from 6–9 p.m.

Drawing with Mary Larsen
Every Saturday (excluding May 25) from May 4–June 15, 2013, 10 a.m.–noon

Collage Art with Mixed Media Class
Session I: Every Thursday from May 9–June 13, 2013, 3:30–5:30 p.m.

Session II: Every Thursday from May 9–June 13, 2013, 6:30–8:30 p.m.

Cost:

$210 per session (six classes) for both Drawing with Mary Larsen and Collage Art with Mixed Media Class. Students must register and pay in full by April 26 for Drawing with Mary Larsen, and by April 30 for Collage Art with Mixed Media Class.
