CONTEMPORARY MUSIC ON FILM

This series offers a behind-the-scenes look at contemporary rock bands through award winning documentary filmmaking. In addition to the opportunity to listen to good music, each film brings honest insight into the lives of a range of unique musicians. These films further shed light on each band's complicated working relationships--with one another and the music industry as a whole--alongside personal struggles that often complicate each artist's journey to find and express their creative vision.

Narrated by Lawrence Fishburne, Everyday Sunshine is a thoughtful and honest documentary about one of the most original bands of the past 25 years that defied stereotypes, musical genres, an unforgiving music industry, and their own personal crisis' to manifest music from sheer determination and love for their art. Born out of Los Angeles, Fishbone fused funk, punk, ska, and an eclectic style that demonstrated pure creativity and courage, and though they came very close to commercial success, they were never quite able to grasp it. This is their story.

THE OUTSIDER

A common theme in films, The Outsider, typically represents an individual who does not conform to society or a particular group of people, and who are often struggling with their own demons or beliefs. This series of classic and contemporary films capture the essence of the many ways in which one can be an outsider - in dramatic film fashion.

He gets more than he bargained for when he meets up with him and unknowingly becomes entangled with the East Coast mafia.
