Contemporary Dancing at NADA New York, May 10-12, organized by
Sam Gordon & CAFE DANCER
New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA) is pleased to announce a Contemporary Dance program, organized by Sam Gordon & CAFE DANCER, to be presented at that the 2nd edition of NADA New York happening May 10-12, 2013 at Pier 36 - Basketball City. The dance performances will take place both inside the fair and in the designed dance area outside the fair located along the East River.
Contemporary Dancing takes its name from a song by Nils Bech. A program of performance presenting a range of dancers today who dance within the art world.
Featuring: AUNTS, Brittany Bailey, Biba Bell, Rebecca Brooks, Walter Dundervill, Stanley Love Performance Group, Michael Mahalchick, Cassie Mey, Jealous Orgasm, Lilibeth Cuenca Rasmussen, robbinschilds, Greg Zuccolo, and Flora Wiegmann who co-founded the Mandrake, with Drew Heitzler and Justin Beal, bringing it full circle back to artist run bars.
CAFE DANCER, 96 Orchard Street on the Lower East Side founded by Elisabeth Gangnes, Jessie Gold and Elizabeth Hart, a group of dancers/musicians who also collaborate with artists. The bar's counter top is by Frank Benson and there are site specific artworks by Naomi Fisher, Corrine Jones and Robbie McDonald. Like Food in Soho, co-founded by Gordon Matta Clark, through to Max's Kansas City and onto Passerby, artists have always gathered in interesting spots.
