L2kontemporary is proud to present a new body of work from Los Angeles-based artist Stephen Rivers.

Rivers’ work pertains to the rampant introduction, discharge and saturation of man-made chemicals into our environment.  Altered biological experiments gone haywire and released into the ecosystem and the consequences for existing and future life on this planet. He gives us a glimpse of what could happen in an unnatural selection of the evolution of living things in our environment.

As invasive species take over and provide new competition for the very limited and chemically laced resources, this will severely impact the native species daily and long term struggle for survival.  While some species become extinct, the visually bizarre and very surreal consequences of the fight for survival will be on display is Rivers’ latest work.

“The results of human interference or various destructive and reckless influences could be catastrophic. A disregard of tainted and polluted life on earth is the essence of my artwork.”
