New UrbanGlass Executive Director: Cybele Maylone |
UrbanGlass is pleased to welcome Cybele Maylone,
who comes to UrbanGlass from apexart. Ms. Maylone will oversee UrbanGlass' return to 647 Fulton Street, and work with the variety of artists, donors, and friends that are essential to our work. Ms. Maylone, who has an MA in Arts Administration from Columbia University, and has worked at organizations including the New Museum of Contemporary Art, ArtTable, and the American Museum of Natural History. Wet Dog Glass is here to install the hotshop!
Over the next two weeks, Director of Operations Brian Kibler, along side Eddie Bernard and the crew from Wet Dog glass will install UrbanGlass' shiny new hotshop equipment! 10 glory holes, 3 furnaces and 14 annealers will be hoisted up to the third floor and put in place.

Apply to the Agnes Varis Visiting Artist Fellowship: May 31 Deadline

The Agnes Varis Visiting Artist Fellowship @UrbanGlass will provide a woman artist the opportunity to develop a new body of work exploring ideas and techniques using the medium of glass. Varis Fellowships will be provided for one artist per year for five years, beginning in 2013. Fellowships are eight weeks in length, and include access to all areas of UrbanGlass' 17,000-square-foot glass working studio. Generous support for this fellowship comes from the Agnes Varis Trust. for details...
