The American Turkish Society, will be presenting Design: Istanbul-New York, the first ever group exhibition of global Turkish design at Wanted Design 2013. Products on display were hand-picked by an iconic group of Turkish design extraordinaires including Gaye Cevikel, Ferda Kolatan, Defne Koz, Ayse Birsel, and Ali Tayar.
The items on show are:
Pleat Box, a ceramic light by Hande Akçaylı and Murat Koçyiğit of Mashallah
Extra Wine-set, complete with bottle and drinking glass by Ali Bakova
Attractive, a mirror and magnet combination by Umut Demirel
Relax, porcelain tableware that creates different patterns when stacked by Tamer Nakisci
Tulûat, a wool rug by Koray Ozgen
Novela Vessels, ceramic tabletop by Erin Türkoğlu and Melodi Bozkurt of Müzz Design
Tearend Teacup and Saucer, contemporary take on the Turkish tea set by Can Yalman

As you mark your calendars for the weekend, also make plans to see chef and food artist Dilara Erbay's unique food installation, Wishing Tree, a centerpiece decorated with wishes made of pestil, a grape paste used in traditional Anatolian dishes, at the Design: Istanbul-New York booth.
