Join BroLab Collective members for an artist talk and book signing event to celebrate the release of their catalog highlighting Stack and Rack as well as previous projects. BroLab artists Rahul Alexander, Jonathan Brand and Adam Brent will discuss their process and aims in a panel moderated by curator Jeanne Brasile. Copies of BroLab: Some Work Unitl Now, a 73 page illustrated catalog with essays by Heng Gil-Han, Jeanne Brasile and Sergio Bessa, will be available for sale. BroLab have built a practice bridging art and design principles exploring minimalist objects where people can interact with both the artists and the work. Patricia Dahlman

Spring Studio Residents Artist Talks
Gallery Aferro, New Media Room

Current residents Dara Alter, Patricia Dahlman, Phoenix Lindsey-Hall, Anne Q. McKeown and Vikki Michalios will be giving the biannual artist talks for Spring. Talks will commence at 1PM, to be followed by open studios. Dara Alter is using Google Street View to travel remotely, as a precursor to her paintings. Patricia Dahlman is making sculpture and two dimensional works by cutting out forms in canvas, then stuffing and sewing the forms together. Phoenix Lindsey-Hall is creating ceramic sculptural explorations of violence, trauma and hate crimes based on regulating difference. Anne Q. McKeown contrasts rational, conceptual processes with intuitive inquiry, researching, investigating, and shaping materials using chance, accident, and random samplings, as well as imagery from the canon of art history. Vikki Michalios is working with art and hydroponics technology to construct a viable off-grid ecologically sustainable garden in her studio. Gallery Aferro is thrilled to announce the reopening of ART SHOP, the gallery gift shop featuring a rotating selection of limited edition prints, artist multiples, books, jewelry, apparel, and other items defying description. The shop was relocated to the front of the main gallery to make room for a new classroom space at Gallery Aferro. Highlights for this spring include but are by no means limited to: a substantive range of vintage color photographs by LG Carpenter, for which Gallery Aferro is the exclusive agent, a case of thematic objects conceptualized by studio resident Dahlia Elsayed, and tee shirts and prints by Brooklyn legend Dennis Mcnett AKA WolfBat.
