Dear friends & collectors,
A year ago today, I lost a dear friend in artist Luc Leestemaker. He was a mentor and a guide to me in this lifetime. He left us on his 55th birthday: May 18th, 2012. Like the many people whose lives he touched, I miss him deeply.
As his dealer and friend for many years, I was privileged to observe how profoundly Luc's paintings and presence transformed others. It did not matter if you were 11 years old or 90 years old, he was interested in who you were and your journey. Many of you were fortunate enough to meet him, and understand what I mean.
He was a seeker.
Luc projected his soul onto each and every empty canvas and with each unique piece and evolving series, he gave us a glimpse of his own personal transformation. He left behind a legacy of great works that many of you now own in your private collections. In his book, "The Intentional Artist", he left us compelling stories of his adventure here both as a man and an artist.
In 2011, I was honored to host "Living Large" -- his last exhibition in 2011 in which he wrote a poem to share with us and I've included it below. It continues to inspire me as I treasure his memory: may it also inspire you to be the best you can be on this journey called your life.
