Art14 London takes place at Olympia Grand Hall from 28 February to 2 March
2014. It follows the inaugural edition, Art13 London, that was attended by
24,735 visitors, including 4,503 VIPs. |

Art14 London Appoints 'Emerge' Curatorial Advisor |
Art14 London
announces Emerge, a new section for the
Fair. Advised by curator Lisa Le Feuvre, Emerge takes its cue from the
range of meanings of 'emerge'. It will include emerging artists and
emerging art scenes. It will be open to galleries seven years or younger;
this tightly focused section will feature site-specific one or two person
presentations. Lisa Le Feuvre is Head of Sculpture Studies at the Henry
Moore Institute and has recently edited 'Failure' published by the
Whitechapel Gallery/MIT Press. She co-curated British Art Show

This year's Royal Academy Summer
Exhibition, 10 June-18 August, will feature a monumental
installation by El Anatsui which will cover the
facade of the Royal Academy. The artist presented 'In the World But Don't
Know the World' as part of Art13 Projects (see illustration to the left).
The Dairy Art Centre founded by Art13 London advisory board member Frank Cohen and
Nicolai Frahm, is a new not-for-profit art space situated in a former
Express Dairies milk depot located in Bloomsbury, London. The opening
exhibition 'Quicksand' is a solo exhibition of the Swiss artist, John M
Armleder. |

Ramin Salsali, of
the Salsali Private Museum in Dubai (SPM), has been appointed by His
Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE,
Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai as Patron of the Arts of Dubai, 2013 for
the fourth consecutive year. Don't miss the current show of work by Reza Derakshani at the SPM. |

Bedwyr Williams will represent Wales at the 55th Venice Biennale. Williams,
whose work featured in Art13 London and was part of Art13 Performances,
will be showing a new body of work which is a homage to amateur
astronomers. The show is called 'The Starry Messenger' and is at the Ludoteca Santa Maria Ausiliatrice from 1 June to
24 November. |

The long awaited
documentation of Jean-Hubert Martin's seminal exhibition has arrived: Lucy
Steeds Making Art Global (Part 2): 'Magiciens de la
Terre' 1989. This book analyses and
documents the first global art exhibition, which radically challenged the
entrenched Western art system.
Simon Hantai was one of the major 're-discoveries' of Art13 London. The
Hungarian-born modern artist who passed away in 2008 has a major
retrospective of his work at the Pompidou Centre, Paris, from 22 May to 9
September. |
