CHICAGO, IL (May 2013)- On Saturday, April 20, 2013, guests and sponsors poured into Elmhurst Art Museum and a spectacular tent for the second annual Soirée 2013: A Benefit for Elmhurst Art Museum.
Soirée 2013, including a silent auction and live art auction, raised funds for Elmhurst Art Museum and was supported by community industry leaders and generous local families, including Ray and Sally Allen, Erwin Steinhebel & Sons, Inc. and McDonald's Corporation. The event raised $160,000 to support Elmhurst Art Museum's innovative exhibitions, high quality art classes and free public programs through sponsors, table sales, tickets, donations and bidding on incredible silent and live auction items.

Beneath floating paper lanterns and hanging centerpieces guests dined on fabulous food, fine wine, craft beer and an open bar while enjoying unexpected performances by Redmoon Theater. Before dancing the night away to the electric grooves of the Chicago Catz, guests battled for their favorite pieces of artwork in an exhilarating live auction with Christie's auctioneer Steve Zick.

Elmhurst Art Museum, located just 20 minutes from downtown Chicago, is the cultural center of DuPage County and a welcoming center to view and experience the visual arts of our time. In addition to presenting exhibitions of work by distinguished regional, national and international artists, the Museum's Education Center and architecturally significant facility-encompassing Mies van der Rohe's McCormick House-enrich people's lives by deepening their knowledge of art, architecture and design, and increasing understanding of the relevance of visual art in our society. Elmhurst Art Museum is a recipient of the Chicago AIA Regional Architecture Award and was nominated for a National Distinguished Building Award for Architectural Excellence. Museum hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday and Saturday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday, and 12-5 p.m. Sunday. The Museum is closed on Mondays.
