Glass, Color and Light: A Glass Axis Member Exhibition

on view at Dublin Arts Council June 18 - Aug. 2


 
Dublin, Ohio (May 28, 2013) Glass, Color and Light: A Glass Axis Member Exhibition opens Tuesday, June 18 from 6 to 8 p.m., with a reception with the artists at Dublin Arts Council, 7125 Riverside Dr., in Dublin. The exhibition of innovative glass artwork by more than 30 artists will remain on view through Aug. 2.

Glass, Color, and Light showcases artwork work ranging from lighted pieces to jewelry, and from experimental kiln work to traditional blown glass.

Glass Axis is a Columbus, Ohio-based non-profit glass center dedicated to making and learning. In 1987, 12 students and graduates of The Ohio State University Glass Program came together under the name Glass Axis. Today, Glass Axis is a 10,000 sq. ft. art center, providing artists, students and community members the tools necessary to create works in glass while learning, sharing and teaching.
 
The opening reception and the exhibition at Dublin Arts Council are free of charge. Exhibition hours are Tuesday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Wednesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
 
The exhibition will travel to Glass Axis, 1341 Norton Ave., Columbus, Ohio and will be on view Aug. 15 through Nov. 7, 2013. Glass Axis will host an Artists Reception on Thursday, Sept. 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. Details can be found at www.glassaxis.org.
