COMMUNITY ARTLAB
Fes-toon*ing Brings Us Together
Looking for a special way to connect with your child this summer? One of our Community Art Lab sessions--Fes-toon*ing Brings Us Together with Maria Molteni--is for students ages 7-12 and their parents/guardians. These sessions take place July 15 - 18 from 6 - 8 p.m. so adults who work during the day may attend with their children. Participants will experiment with a basic playful form, the Festoon, and--using their bodies, words, and creative materials--will investigate the festoon as a tool for interdisciplinary learning, social interaction and celebration. The cost of this Community Art Lab session is $60 per person ($40 MF Members). To inquire about scholarship opportunities please contact felice@mattress.org or call 412.231.3169.
ON THE ROAD
Carrie Mae Weems' work from Feminist And... is travelling to Charlottesville, VA for the LOOK3 festival June 13 - 15. More information is available at LOOK3.org. |

ART ATTRACTS
If you haven't already, pick up the June issue of WHIRL to read Art Attracts, a story about our Urban Garden Party Co-Chairs, Anne + Anuj Dhanda. In addition to being active in planning this year's fundraiser, the Dhandas have been instrumental members of the museum's board for a number of years. Thank you Anne + Anuj!
GOT STUFF?
We're still on the look out for vintage luggage, old wooden chairs or antique, cloth-bound books for the exhibition, Chiharu Shiota: Trace of Memory. If you have any of the items listed above just sitting around and would like to donate them, please contact owen@mattress.org or call 412.231.3169.
