Cool Pix Digital Photo Excursions for Teens
This Summer @ Silver Eye Center for Photography
Cool Pix introduces teens (ages 14 - 18) to the fundamental operations, techniques, and critical vocabulary of digital photography. Students will learn both basic and advanced camera settings, as well as composition and image quality, while meeting on location at the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium, Phipps Botanical Conservatory, The Frick Art & Historical Center, and the University of Pittsburgh's Cathedral of Learning.
Check out the weekly agenda here!
On the last day of class, students will choose their best photographs from the week, which will be published in a custom-designed photo book (included in the course fee). Photo books will also be on display during a special event for students and their families to be held in late August.
Cool Pix is open to beginner and intermediate students who own either a digital Single-lens Reflex (d-SLR) camera or a point-and-shoot camera with a manual setting. Don't have a camera? We have a limited number of point-and-shoot cameras available for loan to registered students. Please make a note on your registration form if you would like to reserve a camera for your session.
Jessica Kalmar, a Pittsburgh photographer and adjunct faculty member at Robert Morris University, is the Cool Pix instructor.

Refunds
In order to provide the best learning environment possible, Silver Eye keeps the class size limited to 15 students. This is one reason we count on every student to attend their chosen session, once registered for it. If you must withdraw for any reason please be aware of our refund policy as follows:
Camp payments, less a $50 administrative fee, are refundable up until three (3) weeks prior to the start of the camp. No refunds will be issued for cancellations for any reason within three (3) weeks prior to the start of the camp. All refund requests must be submitted in writing via email to the Education Coordinator, Jen Rokoski, at jrokoski@silvereye.org. Please include "Camp Cancellation" of your email, along with all of your contact information.
Camp Cancellation
In the event that a camp must be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, you will be notified approximately one week (seven [7] days) before the class begins. The full class fee will be refunded, either by check or credit card, depending on your form of registration.
Liability
In the event that we cancel a camp, for any reason, the extent of Silver Eye's liability is limited to the return of all monies paid.
