6pm-8pm: Opening Reception
Maryland Art Place (MAP) is pleased to present Young Blood,
an annual exhibition of works by recent Baltimore-area Masters of Fine Art
graduates. Celebrating its 6th year, Young Blood will continue its tradition of
exhibiting a diverse range of innovative, emerging artists.
Since 2008, Young Blood has provided a dynamic exhibition
experience for over 45 artists and has served as a launching pad for the career
of many of its exhibiting artists. The exhibition is curated by MAP’s Program
Advisory Committee, which is comprised of artists, teachers, curators and other
arts professionals, providing the graduates with connections that bridge
academic training and the greater art world.
Young Blood 2013 showcases a variety of new projects that
include: installation and performance by Benjamin Andrew (MICA), painting by George
Belcher (MICA), prints by Jordan Bernier (Towson University), sculpture and painting
by Seung-Beom Cho (MICA), video by Di Fang (MICA), painting by Jascha Owens (MICA),
installation by Laura Payne (MICA), and jewelry based installation and video by
Katja Toporski (Towson University).
Please join us Thursday, July 11, 2013, 6pm – 8pm for the
opening reception.

our community. MAP creates a dynamic environment for artists of our time to
engage the public by nurturing and promoting new ideas. MAP has served as a
critical resource for contemporary art in the Mid-Atlantic since 1981.
