This summer weâll be closed from mid-June until the end of September, making significant changes to our facility.
Why? As a 40-year-old institution that has been in its current location for the past 20 years, we are feeling the need for functional and aesthetic upgrades.
For example, we've presented lectures, screenings and panel discussions by some of the art worldâs most important movers and shakersâand we've squeezed audiences into our lobby to hear them. Their comments were transformative and inspiring, but the sight lines and acoustics were not.
This will be remedied by our dedicated Lecture Hall and Event Space. This new area will provide participants and attendees of the programmatic events, community meetings and special events hosted at ACAC with a much better experience. Plus, weâll be exposing several covered windows in our lobby and Resource Room, allowing more natural light into our spaces, and a greater interplay between indoors and out.
