Kim Gordon
Marcel Duchamp
Signed Limited Edition
From $250
In her latest text painting, Kim Gordon tackles an art historical giant. Previous paintings in the series have featured Larry Gagosian, Sharon Tate, and the names of noise bands. Duchamp is a departure, both in subject matter and palette. Of her art, Gordon says, "Sometimes I'm trying not to paint and then sometimes I kind of am. I always like to leave some space for the viewer to find something, or the listener."
We're so excited for Kim Gordon's fall solo show at White Columns. Kim Gordon is a Deconstructionist's dream girl, whether fronting (the now disbanded) Sonic Youth or making paintings in her studio outside Northampton, MA. She's an iconic musician, visual artist, actress, writer, clothing collaborator - she's been featured on The Simpsons and the 2013 season finale of SNL. Kim's artwork is exhibited across the US, Europe, and Japan. Her recent show with Karen Kilimnik at 303 Gallery in New York featured a video of Gordon and her niece performing with guitars in Rodarte dresses. Her work is in the collections of Richard Prince, Olivier Zahm, Bill Powers, and Richard Phillips.
