Infinite Shores Gallery is pleased to exhibit contemporary painter Tracy Bultjeâs work, from June 15 - July 5, 2013. Please join us in the gallery from 7 - 9 pm on June 15 for the opening and to meet the artist.
Tracy Bultjeâs contemporary landscape paintings present a series of representations of the natural world around her. Bultje is highly interested in the balance between the natural and man made processes which, over time, alter Southern Ontarioâs natural landscape.
Inspired by spaces from her own backyard and her immediate surroundings, Bultje studies and reworks photographs into colourful landscape paintings. Using photography as her underlying composition and painting as her medium of expression, Bultje is able to slowly transform the original landscape through her strong use of colour and organic forms. This results in an entirely new vision of the landscape â a space where the viewer is called into dialogue with the work.
Tracy Bultje was born in Chatham, Ontario, where she currently lives and continues to create her paintings. She has exhibited her works in several solo exhibitions across Canada and has also participated in numerous group exhibitions. Her work has recently been showcased at the Esplanade Gallery (Medicine Hat, Alberta), the Moose Jaw Museum and Art Gallery (Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan), as well as the Thames Art Gallery (Chatham, Ontario).
