THE INTERNATIONAL SCULPTURE CENTER ANNOUNCES
2013 INTERNATIONAL SCULPTURE SYMPOSIUM

__________________________________________________________

(Hamilton, NJ) The International Sculpture Center (ISC) will hold the 2013 International Sculpture Symposium, Makers & Shapers, in Miami, Florida from December 1-4, 2013. Makers & Shapers, a symposium directed at the working artist, co-sponsored by the Florida International University and The Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum, and Fountainhead Residencies, will bring together artists, collectors, curators and art enthusiasts for a keynote address by Janet Echelman, panel discussions, optional tours, receptions and networking, a Wynwood gallery hop, and a multi-day iron pour by the Iron Maidens, an international sculpture group. The symposium marks the first ISC program held in the city of Miami, spans four days, preceding Miami's Art Basel, which takes place December 5-8, 2013. Artists and enthusiasts from around the world will have the opportunity to participate in a week of dynamic cultural events.

Press professional who are interest in attending a Symposium panel or event, with the intention of covering the Makers & Shapers for a reputable art or news outlet, may contact Erin Gautsche, Conferences and Events Manager at erin@sculpture.org or 609.689.1051 x308.

"The 2013 Miami Symposium will offer exceptional opportunity for sculptors and members of the art community to network and exchange ideas, as well as address all phases of sculpture's creation, support, and reception in the contemporary world," said Johannah Hutchison, Executive Director of the International Sculpture Center. The ISC was founded over 50 years ago, as a conference organization and has grown into a leading membership arts organization and publisher of Sculpture magazine; however, conferences and symposia remain a primary focus. ISC events draw enthusiastic and dedicated attendees that support the arts, particularly sculpture. At the symposium, attendees are able to network with one another and develop new ideas and/or solutions that help promote a supportive environment for sculpture and sculptors.

A discounted Early Bird Registration for ISC members is open until July 31, 2013, and general registration will continue through November 10, 2013. More details about the conference and other ISC events are available on the ISC website a http://www.sculpture.org/miami2013 or by contacting the ISC Events Department at events@sculpture.org.
