Quantum Leap will happen in Edinburgh and Malmo, with invited works disappearing between Scotland and Sweden to emerge reconfigured, having travelled through space and time.
Quantum Leap enters a sense of plural temporalities. Contexts are shifting. Works perform mutating or restless roles, addressing the outsourcing or disembodiment of experience through the prisms of culture, technology, language, knowledge⦠'a process of translation is involved...
...even if two people speak the same language'.1 Works transport and transpose between sites, acting as capsules to convey a past and catalysts to affect a future. Beyond the limits of their own control, works anticipate, code or bridge a gap between events, addressing this uncertain locus in their form and content.

Note: The title of the event is taken from a popular sit-com/drama that ran from 1989 â 1993, in which scientist Sam Becket gets eternally lost in time by entering a prototypical time machine. In each episode he is jettisoned into a different year, place and situation. He can't predict where he will emerge. He is out of control, forced to re-perform the roles of others. A predictable yet fragmented narrative of perpetual re-contextualization.
