But at the same time I seek more , absorb more, and enjoy more. Art fills and fullfills me..I am always being an artist. My eyes see art always. This is not a hobby that I partake of when time suits. Art feeds me. Art consoles me. And being prolific it also takes my time. And for this I am thankful that i listened to my inner self. I am thankful for a following that grows by the minute. I enjoy you enjoying my portfolio. I also have come to realize that the coined phrase "starving artist" is a reality for some of us. But if you take another quote, my own , you will see that starving and rich pertain to material $. because of you the viewers , and because art is my life and my passion I can truly say that I AM RICH.. Ruth Therese - For me it is difficult to explain the creative process. It is like trying to explain why I breathe. It is just something I need to do, something I urge to do. When I was younger, I was very shy. To paint, and the making of graphic works, became a way of expressing my self, my opinions and my feelings. Tjasa Iris - Win Peterman - Artist Statement "Alice in Wonderland" as a child that is how I felt looking at the drawings, paintings and sculpture in my Uncle's shop. When I become absorbed in creating, the same wondrous childhood feeling - my "magic moment" takes over. Like Alice, I am propelled along the path, capturing unexpected delights. My goal is to spark the "magic moment" feeling in those viewing my art by pulling them in-capturing their minds, hearts and emotions. I grew up surrounded by nature in the Appalachian Mountains of Pennsylvania. When I was 8 years old I experienced an overwhelming need to capture the image of a deer. Only after I drew the deer did the "feeling" recede. I can still see the deer as if the incident happened yesterday. That awakening, so hard to describe, lives within me and I call it my "magic moment". My inspiration comes from the world around me. Nothing gives me more delight than to capture a "magic moment" and find that people viewing my art experience a similar feeling. My perception of life on Earth is often depicted in a surrealistic manner. My attitude towards our environment is charged with criticism as well as hope for a better future.
