Robert Reinhardt - Artist Statement My camera lens explores the inspiring and sensitive interconnections between the temporal elements of time and history and their relationship to the changing environment. Several photographic software programs are employed to recreate the original landscape photograph to manipulate the original design of these images. It is the careful observer that begins to discover the delicate objects and surfaces that lie hidden amidst the many layers of images all packaged into one final piece. My intention is to subject the original images to the ravages of time. The rich patinas and the weather worn surfaces magnetically draw me in as I return each image. The images that I chose to include document a specific theme of aEURoeEnd of DaysaEUR. The newly constructed images bring to life a strength that lives on in these landscapes. They seem almost indifferent to the elements that continue to wear at their surfaces and challenge their structural integrity. At the same time, nature is painting an entirely new palette in which they will exist. It is the collision and contrast of that ongoing confrontation that draws me into these landscapes. Pat Heydlauff - I discovered my love for painting in 1993 as I was transitioning out of a stress filled career and exploring my creative side. As a colorist, I painted lively, vibrant mainstream artwork consisting of landscapes, florals and still-lifes. Through painting I noticed my life was becoming balanced, and filled with harmony instead of stress. Painting allowed me to discover my spiritual nature and peace within and lead me to paint in a stream of consciousness flowing with energy. Jon Glaser - There is something fulfilling about capturing a moment in time particularly as the sun makes its first or last appearance. My photographic work reflects an affinity for movement and sound; the latter reminiscent of a song, starting calmly, building strength, power and energy, until the shutter releases and the image is recorded as the ultimate crescendo. While I am most drawn to the grand landscape, my portfolio includes macro still life and abstract work as well, showcasing a relationship between color and light. Debbi Chan - I am going to do an updated artist's statement. But until I submit it you have a short temporary one. As an artist I an fullfilled and contend. But at the same time I seek more , absorb more, and enjoy more. Art fills and fullfills me..I am always being an artist. My eyes see art always. This is not a hobby that I partake of when time suits. Art feeds me. Art consoles me. And being prolific it also takes my time. And for this I am thankful that i listened to my inner self. I am thankful for a following that grows by the minute. Richard Harpum - I find painting to be one of my most satisfying pastimes. Although I drew and painted as a youngster, a career in the British Army followed by many years as a senior executive in business, meant that I did not start pursuing my passion again until I was in my 50s. I am so glad that I did. Although I love the Impressionists, the engineer in me means that I have a great deal of difficulty being "loose" in my own work. Having tried and failed, I decided to take the route of being a realist artist, and recently coined "High Definition Art" as my slogan. However, I am not interested in achieving photorealism. I want people to see that my pictures are paintings, and would hate the thought that someone had to take a close look to discover that one of my paintings was not a photograph. My time-consuming technique pretty much prohibits painting en plein air, so I use photographs for reference in my studio. Consequently, I take a camera everywhere, although this drives my wife nuts!
