  • Artists Describing Their Art:

Joshua Chambers - Art is all about finding the beauty in "existence". Some try hard to envision a creation, and others see potential in what already exists. This view is held by Joshua Chambers, an abstract expressionist painter who resides in Atlanta. He often creates spontaneously, based on what he's feeling at the moment, thus eliminating the pressure to meet a particular standard. His unique style of creating often involves materials such as wood, tile, stains and even polyurethane. This mixed media artist loves to express himself through art. He states, its a great release that has brought joy to many and inspired others to try their hand at it. Art is life, and it's all around us....

Tzipi Biran - I try to express the feminine experience as a complete individual that is constantly engaged in fulfilling her independence and femininity. Parallel to this, I emphasize the potential of a harmonious and holistic connection within a nourishing, supporting and creative relationship between a couple, a promoting and protective partnership within a spiritual and physical connection. The figures in my works are like the dance of life in which the steps of one are adjacent, connecting, opposing, and supporting to that of others, creating a changing and constant movement. ...

Roderick Brown - Roderick (Rod) Brown was born in Western Australia. Rod spent his first 30 years in an arid and remote gold mining town. As a youngster he remembers the great freedom he enjoyed surrounded by the stark but vivid images of the mines and surrounding bush, which he regularly explored. Rod as a child watched his father paint in oils and sketch, in charcoal and ink, portraits of local identities. The early seeds to later pursue art were sown at this time. Rod has enjoyed living with his family in Australia, Europe and the USA. During this time he has visited over 40 countries around the world enriching his life and building on the foundations acquired in his hometown, which was a very multicultural society. Rod decided to explore his artistic leanings taking up oil painting while living in Sydney. At that time Rod was a member of the Castle Hill Art Society and The Hornsby Art Society. Rod took up watercolour painting in the early 1980's, which has been his preferred medium since. Rod has exhibited at many public shows particularly while living in Sydney and has over the years painted commissioned portraits. Rod has paintings in corporate and ...

Barry Boobis - Musical Visions is a body of work devoted to all themes of Music. These themes traverse the worlds of jazz, dance, rock, nature, spirit, and beyond. These musical themes are explored in the universes of realism and abstract, often combining both at a level of Spirit. Having practiced Zen meditation I see all mediums of art as One, which is derived from the ancient Buddhist scriptures. My Greatgrandfather wrote the "Hatikvah," national anthem of Israel, and my father was a jazz piano player, as well as a commercial artist, so the genetic splicing is readily obvious. The heritage of music, as well as art and spirit informs the work, and I offer it as a form of celebration of heightened sensibility. Joyousness, rapture, and expression, not just existence! As artist- in- residence at the Bluenote jazz club in NYC, and a participant in the Newport Jazz Festival and the Saratoga Jazz Festival for many years, I have had the great opportunity to bring this work to lovers of music as well as art throughout the Eastern Seabord of the USA. I now welcome the opportunity to bring it to the world- at- large through absolutearts.com. Please celebrate with me! ...

Christine Dumbsky - "Paintings of women" In the best cases they are portrayals of women, by women. However, the artist, Christine Dumbsky from Sommerach, divests this notion of its'perceived pre-set programme that seems often to delve into the realms of Womens Liberation; at least at first sight. Christine Dumbsky's women appear to project the image of wanting to share their world with those outside. In fact, they provoke the viewer to connect with them through the painting by seeming to invite the viewer to touch the sculptural elements included. She does not denegrate her women to objects of male fantasy, and she does not support sexual voyeurism. Because of this, her women retain their secrets but also seem willing and able to share those secrets for the same reason. These are women with yearnings and illusions that wish to be understood. That the artist has a dreamy, romantic streak is not only a pre-requisite for her work, it is also what gives it it`s special charm. Wolf-Dietrich Weissbach (Journalist) ...

John Obafemi Jones - My work can be view as a personal contract to which I surrender myself a lifelong passion of art making. Art is my passion. When I create a work of art I am reminded of the visual and emotional sensations one gets from looking into kaleidoscope. I work with a variety of paint mediums as well as pastels, pencils and crayon. I like the concept of merging drawing painting with drawing. The use colorful squiggly lines and marks make my work lively and full of energy. From beginning to end, the process of bringing shapes, lines and colors together to the point where a work of art is born quite challenging yet magical and mysterious. ...

Richard Wynne - Richard is an acclaimed International Artist recently returned to the USA. Richard has lived in many Countries. "The last being Thailland. He started his art studies at a very young age at the John Herron Art Institute In Indianapolis, Indiana and then later at the Art Institute of Chicago Richard has lived in many countries, painting, and playing music. Mr Wynne has exhibited in Thailand, the United States, Spain, Argentina, Kuwait, Korea, Ihdia, and other Countries. Sometimes perhaps I say too much about my self but maybe it helps people understand what motivates my work. For your information I've lived in 8 different countries and have been around the world 5 times. I speak a few different languages, some very well; others not so well. By the way I am not a workaholic as I don't consider what I do work. I enjoy life too much. I forgot to say I am also a weight lifter as lifting weights is my Zen. When I am troubled the concentration it takes to lift makes me calm. I guess my page will probably be a little different from what people expect. Sorry I have not been uploading new work as ...

Elena Zhogina - I am a self taught artist in love with what I do. I love research into form, color, texture, styles and fantasies. I am a self-made artist. In contrast to classical school of painting I use intuition and feelings to express myself. For me the world of painting allows to find my own way of self-expression and reveal my true personality. Some paintings start from one idea but with time discover to me new things. They bring harmony and happiness into my life. I am focused on drawing/painting portraits/people and various types/styles of motion. There are several symbolism works in my portofolio describing certain period of my life and my reflections thereon. Its a pleasure to share it with you ...

David Fedeli - "I believe that as an artist, it is not my purpose to dictate what the viewer sees on the canvas, but rather to pose a question that causes them to seek an answer within themselves. Each individual brings their own life experiences into the decision, and for each of them the meaning is truly unique. My passion lies in reaching that inner self, and drawing it into, and out of, my art. My goal is to create a moment that touches their soul."...

Edward Tabachnik - Edward Tabachnik Through all my works you will find that my attitude toward color and light combines tradition of impressionism with various surrealistic situations. Working on illustrations for Kafka's novels, I was looking for a symbolic image of a mystical town. I found it in Gaudi's "Sagrada Familia". Almost on each of my paintings you can see my "signature"- flying phantasmagoria tower, which has become for me a living entity, procreating itself, connecting The Past with The Future. Fascinated with the theory of Black Holes and the origin of The World is also reflected in many paintings in the form of "Singularity", through which Time passes, connecting The Past with The Future. I was always attracted to mystery of Kabbalah, and to other Jewish teachings. Many of my works are related to these themes. After seeing the destroyed Synagogue in Berlin, I've "recreated" it in my painting, and also dedicated a number of my works to Jewish History. In my works I try to blend my fantasy with sometimes well known, sometimes created architectural details. My schooling was both - in architecture and painting. My love for architecture can be seen through many of my works. There is ...

Ken Hillberry - In art and in life, dynamics of balance, integrity and tolerant interaction of all elements or participants ought to be see, experienced and maintained. At the same time, the challenge of affecting this balance is creatively encountering all changes and adapt accordingly. For some, the destination or pre-determined outcomes are sought more often than not. Then there are some who savor the journey, thus witnessing and enjoying developments along the way. I fall into the latter category. It's like watching the film develop in a darkroom. the image takes form a little at a time right before my eyes. The creative process, for me, is void of pressure and timeless. The ability and practice and discipline are central in my approach. My creative intent is to engage a viewer in thought and emotion, as well as, with their eyes. Using imagination, retrospect or model, my range of composition can be conceptual, perhaps impressionistic or abstract in application, but always developed to evoke an awareness and appreciation for the relative conditions in life experience and art form as I incisively or playfully interpret my experiences along the way. ...
